Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal
![]() | This is a failed proposal. Consensus for its implementation was not established within a reasonable period of time. If you want to revive discussion, please use the talk page or initiate a thread at the village pump. Result was not to revive MEDCAB, but to implement a process within WP:DRN for mid-level informal mediation |

The Mediation Cabal was a group of Wikipedians who provided informal mediation for disputes on Wikipedia. Assisted by volunteer coordinators, it facilitated communication and helped parties reach an agreement without imposing sanctions or making judgments.
Over time, simple disputes were handled by the dispute resolution noticeboard, and complex ones by formal mediation. After a discussion in 2012, it was closed as redundant to these two process.
There was a proposal to re-establish this as a dispute resolution process, and this is not accepting disputes at this time.
![]() | This page is currently inactive and is retained for historical reference. Either the page is no longer relevant or consensus on its purpose has become unclear. To revive discussion, seek broader input via a forum such as the village pump. Disputes should now be directed to the Third Opinion Project or the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. |
The cabal, which never existed, now does not exist even more than it did not exist before, as it would have chosen to no longer not do informal mediation if it did exist, but instead has not chosen to go on to not do other (heh, heh, heh) things which are not more important than those which we didn't do before.[A]
There is no cabal! (Long live the cabal! Expect us.)

- ^ The Mediation Cabal was an informal, and lighthearted, process where Wikipedians provided informal mediation for disputes on Wikipedia: see the archives for closed cases. Over time, the processes were used less, and superseded by alternative processes such as the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. Therefore, the project was closed..... or was it? The alleged final coordinators of the cabal[B] are listed here.
- ^ At least the final public ones.
