The ideal thing to do would be to get "reliable third-party" sources from places such as The New York Times, The Guardian, Billboard, IFPI, etc. Mauri96 (talk) 23:16, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Maurie..... the reason why Madonna own website claim 19 million, is because the certification is really real without estimation, and actually it isn't right.... this is the best sources of True Blue Claim...... 25 million copies, absolutely one of the best selling albums in history.

True Blue (Madonna album) → True Blue (album) – WP:PDAB. True Blue (Madonna album) has a page viewcount ratio of about 22:1 (as of 19 Feb 2025), compared to the other four albums titled "True Blue", combined. (True Blue (Tina Brooks album), True Blue (Hank Crawford album), True Blue (Al Cohn and Dexter Gordon album), True Blue – The Very Best of John Williamson). TenthAvenueFreezeOut (talk) 09:07, 19 February 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. TarnishedPathtalk 10:37, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Support – 22:1 is more than enough for a PDAB. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 21:15, 19 February 2025 (UTC)
- Support, per page views and long-term historical cultural significance. Randy Kryn (talk) 05:36, 20 February 2025 (UTC)
- Support I personally no see problem considering we've 5 albums with the title of "True Blue", and this one gets more views combined. It significantly received more media mentions as well. --Apoxyomenus (talk) 08:31, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

- Support per nominator and consistency with WP:PDAB. Bluesatellite (talk) 01:41, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- There is no "consistency" in partial disambiguation. It's an arbitrary standard, depending both on the topic area (music editors seem to love it, film editors hate it) and who happens to show up in a discussion. If you want "consistency" then it's more consistent to never do it, and always disambiguate if multiple clashing articles exist. * Pppery * it has begun... 01:45, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Partial disambiguation DOES exist in Wikipedia. If you complain with the rule, take it to a wider consensus. A lot of articles have done this and we do NOT cherrypick which albums deserve partial disambiguation. Statistics show this album leads with a huge gap (22:1) than any other albums with the same title. Bluesatellite (talk) 02:42, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
we do NOT cherrypick which albums deserve partial disambiguation
is totally wishful thinking. I can believe that you don't consciously cherrypick and attempt to apply an objective standard, but it's quite clear to me that the result ends up being arbitrary anyway. * Pppery * it has begun... 03:07, 26 February 2025 (UTC)- If you think it's arbitrary, push it to a wider forum to gain consensus. If those other albums like 1989 and Thriller can have partial dabs, why not this album? That's why I said with cherrypicking. The nominator fairly shows the statistic, not just baseless opinion. Bluesatellite (talk) 03:50, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- This proposal is consistent with all the other albums in this list: Wikipedia:Partially disambiguated page names#(album), (EP), (soundtrack), other music releases. TenthAvenueFreezeOut (talk) 08:03, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- It is important to keep in mind that those lists are merely an ad hoc collection of observations about some PDAB cases that exist on Wikipedia. There has been no similar effort to determine whether there are other topics with similar or higher pageview ratios that do not have PDAB titles, so those lists do not provide any statistical evidence that the use of PDAB titles for similar situations is justified in general. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:21, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
